Summer Re-Cap

Its been a busy summer for Camp Dolomites, every weekend we have had road racers and mountain bikers out at Granfondo's. The summer has been superb weather wise and there has not been one cancellation or race held in bad weather!. Summer 2007 has been nothing but fantastic for our guests

Some great highlights:

• Cyclists, Runners, Hikers...... from all Over the World: we lost track of nationalities this year, but heres a quick rundown, sorry if i missed a country; Australia, USA, UK, Canada, Sth Africa, Zimbabwe, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Russia, Slovenia, Coatia, New Zealand, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Norway,...... theres more i know it!

• The Marcialonga held locally attracted record numbers and was participated in by many of our winter campers, who come to do the Marcialonga Cross Country Race!.. Wonder if they will be back for Marcialonga Running??

• The Granfondo Pinarello also attracted record numbers on a hot day, we had campers participating in both distances and plenty who chose to do it in style in the Gourmet route... they slept all the way home!!. We had a great time down in Treviso, visiting historic sites, vineyards, sporting manufacturers, the Pinarello store and meeting the man himself, Giovanni Pinarello!!!..

• Rampitour : this seems to be the circuit that everyone falls in love with and always comes back for . The Rampilonga tested peoples skills and strength yet again. Thanks to the guys from Leeds, UK who were nothing but fun at the camp , teaching even our hiking guests some tricks on the bikes!!!

• La Vecia Ferrovia MTB Race - an old classic and a local favourite. The gang from California absolutely blitzed some of the local talent, well done guys, the locals are still talking about you! And thanks for all the gifts you left behind for charity!

• SkyRacing : Some Aussies made some noise in town this summer, pulling off some amazing results in the SkyRunning series. Janelle from Sydney, who may comeback as a guest trainer, did superb, taking out some of her age categories!. Congrats the the boys from Wodonga??? where the hells is that ?? Anyway, you guys were great!!

• Prosecco Weekend : well for you that dont know what Prosecco is.. Its the finest wine and our first ever Prosecco Week was fantastic.. Adventure, fun, wine tasting, cheese, breads, crackers, prosciutto, and SPRITZ ( you will have to come to discover that!!)
